Origin Shift

A proprietary emotional release and timeline technique for n8Clarity.

Inspired by established NLP timeline work, rebranded and reimagined as a unique method. Tony Robbins took NLP and created "Neuro-Associative Conditioning." This is our version.

Chosen Direction

The Method / Brand

Origin Shift

The umbrella program. The transformation methodology. Bold, authoritative, clinical.

"Shift the origin, change everything."

The Technique / Process

Rethreading

The core technique. What you actually do. Warm, narrative, creative. Uses "Rethreading" (not "Rethread") to avoid conflicts with fashion/resale brands.

"Rewrite the thread of your story."

"The Origin Shift Method uses a process called Rethreading to release old emotional patterns at their source."

Why "Rethreading" not "Rethread": "Rethread" as a standalone brand is crowded — multiple fashion/resale companies use it (rethread.io, getrethread.com, rethread.store). "Rethreading" as a process name within Origin Shift is unique and avoids all conflicts.

How They Work in Practice

"I'm doing the Origin Shift program"

the journey

"Today we're going to do some Rethreading on that belief"

the session action

"Have you rethreaded your money story yet?"

past tense, conversational

"She's an Origin Shift practitioner"

credential / identity

"The Rethreading process took 20 minutes"

describing the experience

"Origin Shift helped me rethread my relationship with failure"

both together

What the Technique Does

The core mechanics of the Origin Shift Method.

1

Revisit

Revisit past emotional events on a mental timeline

2

Release

Release and reframe the negative emotional charge

3

Rethread

Install new emotional patterns and beliefs

4

Align

Create alignment between past, present, and future self

Why Emotions Disappear

Three converging explanations for why the Rethreading process works. Each lens offers a different level of depth — and all three point to the same conclusion.

1

Psychological — The Temporal Reframe

All emotions require time to express their meaning. When the Rethreading process shifts a person's temporal perspective — moving them above and before the originating event — the emotion loses its contextual frame. Without that frame, the emotion is effectively recontextualized.

This draws on the principle that emotions are context-dependent: change the vantage point, and the emotional charge reframes itself. The person isn't suppressing anything — the feeling simply no longer fits the new perspective.

2

Metaphysical — The Illusion Layer

From a metaphysical perspective, there is only one real emotion: love. Every negative emotion — anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt — is ultimately a derivative of fear, and fear itself is an illusion born from perceived separation.

When the temporal perspective shifts during Rethreading, it exposes the emotion for what it is — an illusion. Once recognized as such, it dissolves. This isn't intellectual rationalization; it's an experiential insight that occurs naturally when the client achieves enough distance from the event.

3

Neurological — The Boundary Dissolution

The most structural explanation. During Rethreading, Position #3 (above and before the event, facing toward now) places the client at the multi-dimensional neurological opposite of how the emotion is stored. This is a non-mirror-image reverse of the present moment.

Think of it like matter meeting anti-matter. The neurological boundaries that hold the emotional pattern in place get dissolved from this position. The emotion doesn't just fade — the container that held it collapses. That's why clients often report the feeling is simply "gone" rather than gradually reduced.

The Gestalt Chain

Why releasing one event can clear an entire emotional pattern. The Gestalt Chain is central to the Breakthrough Day emotional clearing sequence.

Emotions don't exist as isolated incidents. They're stored as chains of significant emotional events — what we call a gestalt. Each chain begins with a First Event, the original moment a particular emotional pattern was encoded. Every subsequent experience of that emotion links back to this root, forming a connected sequence.

This is why similar situations keep triggering the same emotional response, even years later. You're not reacting to today's event in isolation — you're activating the entire chain, all the way back to its origin.

Origin Shift works by going to the root of the chain — the First Event — and releasing the emotional charge there. When the root releases, the entire chain collapses. Every linked event along the chain re-evaluates itself in light of the new perspective. This is why a single Rethreading session can neutralize what feels like a lifetime of accumulated emotional weight.

How the Chain Works

Release the First Event, and every linked event along the chain lets go.

The Origin Shift Process

The practitioner's working flow. Follow these steps in order during a session.

Green italic boxes = say this to the client.

A

Elicit the Timeline

Discover how the client organizes past and future spatially

Done with the client awake, not in trance. This increases unconscious trust and cooperation.

Primary Elicitation

"If I were to ask your unconscious mind where your past is, and where your future is, I have an idea that you might say it's from right to left, or front to back, or up to down, or in some direction from you in relation to your body. And it's not your conscious concept that I'm interested in, it's your unconscious. So, if I were to ask your unconscious mind where's your past, to what direction would you point?"

Note all analog behavior during elicitation.

"And your future, what direction would you point if I asked your unconscious mind, where's your future?"

However the client organizes their timeline is perfect. Make no value judgments about their arrangement.

If Primary Doesn't Work — Secondary Elicitation

1. "Can you remember something that happened a week ago?" — "Can you notice where it comes from?"

2. Repeat for 1 month ago, 1 year ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago.

3. Repeat for 1 month in the future, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years in the future.

4. "Do you notice that this arrangement implies a line, or some linear arrangement of your memories?"

First Navigation Test

"Good. Now when I say 'float,' I don't mean only visually. In a moment I'm going to ask you to float up above that line. By float I also mean as sounds floating on the wind, or floating in the bathtub, or visually. However you float above your timeline is perfect. So, can you just float up above your timeline?"

"Now, remaining above your timeline, just float back into the past. Are you there?"

"Good, float back toward now, and stop there. Now, facing toward the future, float up higher and farther back into the past."

"And now, float out into your future. Are you there?"

"Now, float up higher. Float so high that your timeline seems like one inch long."

"Good, float back to now, and float down into now and come back in the room."

"How was that?"

B

Discover the Root Cause

Find the First Event — the origin of the gestalt chain

This is done before the client is above the timeline. Ask permission from the unconscious mind first.

"Is it all right with your unconscious mind for you to release this emotion today and for you to be aware of it consciously?"
"What is the root cause of this problem, the first event which, when disconnected, will cause the problem to disappear? If you were to know, was it before, during, or after your birth?"

If AFTER birth: "If you were to know, what age were you?" → Proceed to protocol.

If BEFORE birth: "In the womb, or before?" → If womb: "What month?" → If before: "Was it a past life or passed down genealogically?"

If past life: "How many lifetimes ago?"

If genealogical: "How many generations ago?"

If client says "I don't know": "I know you don't, but if you did... trust your unconscious mind. Take whatever comes up."

C

Choose the Protocol

Select based on what you're clearing and the client's situation

Emotions 1-5

Anger, Sadness, Fear, Hurt, Guilt

→ Protocol 1 (standard) or Protocol 2 (non-trauma)

Emotion 6

Anxiety

→ Protocol 4 (future-based)

Limiting Decisions

Beliefs, decisions, identity patterns

→ Protocol 3

Emotion won't release?

After standard protocol fails

→ Reframes, then Drop-Down Through

Protocol 1 — Standard Rethreading

Root cause clearing. For emotions 1-5. The primary protocol for most clearing work.

1. Float above the timeline to the First Event

"Just float up above your timeline, and over the past to Position #1, facing the past. And when you get there, notice the First Event. Let me know when you're there."

2. Go to Position #2 — above the event, looking down

"Now, float to Position #2 directly up above the event so you are looking down on the event. Ask your unconscious mind what it needs to learn from the event, the learning of which will allow you to let go of the emotions easily and effortlessly. Your unconscious mind can preserve the learnings so that if you need them in the future, they'll be there. Tell me what they are."

3. Go to Position #3 — well before the event

"Now float to Position #3, so you are above the event and before the beginning of the event, and turn and look toward now. Now, where are the emotions? That's right, it disappeared."

4. Test at Position #4 — inside the event

"Float right down inside the event and notice that the emotion has disappeared. Is the emotion totally gone? Good, come back up to Position #3."

5. Release the entire chain — come back to now

"Now, come back to now above your timeline only as quickly as you can let go of all the [name the emotion] on the events all the way back to now, assume Position #3 with each subsequent event, preserve the learnings, and let go of the [name the emotion] all the way back to now. Float down into now and come back into the room."

Break state.

6. Test

"Can you remember any event in the past where you used to be able to feel that old emotion, and go back and notice if you can feel it, or you may find that you cannot. Good, come back to now."

Test until the client is convinced the emotion is gone.

7. Future pace

"I want you to go out into the future to an unspecified time which if it had happened in the past, you would have felt inappropriate or unwarranted [name the emotion], and notice if you can find that old emotion, or you may find that you cannot. OK? Good, come back to now."

Protocol 2 — Direct Entry Rethreading

In-event clearing. For non-trauma, non-phobia cases only.

WARNING: This protocol is NOT for trauma or phobia. Use Protocol 1 for those cases.

1. Go directly into the event at Position #4

"I'd like to ask your unconscious mind to float up in the air, above your timeline, into the past and down into the event — right into Position #4, looking through your own eyes. And when you're there, notice the emotion that's present."

Client only stays here briefly.

2. Gather learnings from Position #3

"Float back up above the timeline and go to Position #3, well before the beginning of the event, and turn and look toward now. Ask your unconscious mind what it needs to learn from the event, the learning of which will allow you to let go of the emotions easily and effortlessly. Tell me what they are."

3. Check the emotion

"Now where is the emotion? Where did it go? That's right, it disappeared."

4. Test inside the event

"Just float right down into the event and notice that the emotion has disappeared. Is the emotion totally gone? Good, come back up to Position #3."

5-7. Release chain, test, and future pace

Same as Protocol 1 steps 5-7.

Protocol 3 — Limiting Decisions

For beliefs, decisions, and identity patterns. Not for emotions.

Note: When eliciting the root cause for a limiting decision, check if the client is at Cause. If not, ask for the limiting decision that caused the one in question.

1. Go into the event at Position #4

"I'd like to ask your unconscious mind to float up in the air, above your timeline, into the past and down into the event — right into Position #4. Notice what emotions are present, and also note if you are aware of the decision that was made there."

If client doesn't notice the decision, say: "Rewind the movie of your memory until you come to the time of the decision... right now."

2. Gather learnings from Position #3

"Float back up above the timeline and go to Position #3, well before the beginning of the event. Turn and look toward now. Preserve the positive learnings."

3. Check emotions and decision

"Now where are the emotions? And the decision, did it disappear too?"

4. Test inside the event

"Float down inside the event, to Position #4, looking through your own eyes. Check on the emotions. Are they there? Or have they disappeared? And the decision too — it's disappeared! Good, come back up to Position #3."

5. Release the chain and re-evaluate

"And come back to now only as quickly as you allow all the events between then and now to re-evaluate themselves in light of your new choices, and let go of all the negative emotions on those events, assume Position #3 with each subsequent event, preserve the learnings, let go of the emotions, and allow each event to re-evaluate itself all the way back to now."

Break state.

6. Notice new possibilities

"As you come back to now, I'd like your unconscious mind to allow you to notice at least 3 or more events where you could have had [desired decision] but because of the decision which we just deleted, you didn't notice the possibility, and now you can."

7-8. Test and future pace

"Now, how do you feel about that old decision or belief?"
"I want you to go out into the future to an unspecified time, and imagine a time when something like this could happen again, and how do you react? OK? Good, come back to now."

Protocol 4 — Anxiety

Future-based clearing. Emotion #6. Completely different direction from Protocols 1-3.

Key difference: Anxiety is about something that hasn't happened yet. Instead of going backward to a root cause, the client goes forward past the event to its successful completion. If anxiety persists, release fear first using Protocol 1.

1. Identify the specific event

"What are you anxious about? What specifically?"

2. Float above the timeline

"Good, just float up above the timeline..."

3. Float forward past the event to successful completion

"And float out above the future to 15 minutes after the successful completion of the event about which you thought you were anxious. Tell me when you're there."

4. Turn and look back

"Good. Turn and look toward now, along the timeline."

5. Check for anxiety

"Now, where's the anxiety?"

If gone → step 6. If still there → "Are you imagining it completing successfully?" If no, talk about successful completion and go back to step 3.

6. Come back to now

"Come back to now."

7. Test

Have the client think about what used to make them anxious and notice there is no anxiety.

8. Repeat for additional anxiety events

If eliminating all anxiety, go back to step 1 with a new event.

Troubleshooting — When It Doesn't Release

3 Things to Check at Position #3

1. Client is still feeling the emotions — they're not actually in Position #3. Tell them: "Get up higher, and float farther back. Get high enough and far enough back until the emotion disappears."

2. 90% of the emotion releases — they're not before the First Event. Ask: "Is there an event earlier than this one? Go back before the FIRST one."

3. Client says "The emotions are not releasing" — they must be totally agreeable to letting go. Use a reframe (below).

3 Reframes (use in order)

1. Learning Reframe

"What is there to have learned from this event, the learning of which will allow you to easily let go of the emotions? Won't it be better to preserve the learnings than the emotions? If you let go of the emotions and preserve the learnings, you will have learned what you needed."

2. Protection/Safety Reframe

"The negative emotion of [name] doesn't protect you. Negative emotions aren't safe for the body. Won't you be a lot safer if you let go of the emotions and preserve the learnings about taking care of yourself?"

3. Prime Directives Reframe

"Not letting go of this emotion is in direct conflict with the highest Prime Directive of the unconscious mind, which is 'To preserve the body.' This emotion, though getting results, does not preserve the body; it hurts the body. Wouldn't it be better to let go of the repressed emotion and get the same results in some other way?"

Drop-Down Through (Last Resort)

Use when standard Rethreading and all reframes fail. The client drops through layers of emotion kinesthetically until reaching a positive state.

1. Find the First Event. Go back to it, above the timeline, down into Position #4.

2. Preserve the learnings from Position #3.

3. Back in the event: "What is the emotion you're feeling?"

4. "As quickly as you can, drop down through that [emotion]. What's underneath that?"

5. Keep dropping: "What's underneath that?" Continue through void, nothing, unspeakable layers until reaching a positive kinesthetic state. Only go to 2 positive emotions.

6. If looping occurs (same word repeats), use inductive language to exit to a deeper level of meaning.

7. End when the client reaches the second positive emotion. There should be an obvious physiological shift.

8. Float back up to Position #3. Check emotion is gone. Test inside the event. Come back to now. Test and future pace.

Learnings note: Learnings should always be Positive, Self, Future — never Negative, Past, or Others.
